Since gaining independence, combating corruption is a card constantly shuffled by Ukrainian politicians at elections. The theme is universal as during Ukraine's short open election history it is successfully juggled by both power and opposition. It is significant that an appeal against corruption marked an unofficial beginning of everyone of Leonid Kuchma’s presidential campaigns.
